Tap at Winter Affair '25. Notes are brief. Really intense, with lots of various nutty flavours, but also pretty strong alcoholic impression, slightly crossing the line of what is pleasant. Still a very good beer, just not great.

Tap at Winter Affair 2025. Very dark brown to black body, no head. Spicy aroma - tobacco, vanilla, carob, caramel... fun! Lean, dry taste, bourbon barrels dominate - vanilla all over the place, going into chocolate and tobacco, light dark berries, ending lean, dry and bitter. Very nice!

Bottle shared at the CBJ tasting, team purchase, 12/06/24. Black with a khaki cap that thins to a swirl. Nose is roast malts, molasses, chocolate melt, toasted brown sugars, hint of coconut. Taste comprises chocolate shavings, rye barrel, spice, dark malts, toffee fudge, modest maple syrup, savoury notes, molasses. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Solid pastry kit.

Draught (13%) @ BEERA bar Aroma has alcohol, bourbon, vanilla and licorice. Flavour has alcohol, soy sauce, licorice. Finishes with sweet and heavy maltiness with licorice root. Liquor-like, very heavy and very sweet. Works as a slow sipper but lacks drinkability.

Full bodied, oily and chewy, with fine carbonation. Hot finish, rich dark malts, burnt toffee, mellow baking cocoa, raisins. Solid.

Bottleshare at CBJ,, thanks to the team. Near opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Palate is smooth and viscous, decent fine carbonation. Savoury dark malts, rich dark chocolate but the vanilla intersects to form some milk chocolate. Good spicy rye ripe fruits with a pleasing bitterish edge. Tangy rye bitter spicy linger. Good stuff, lacks the sumptuous sweetness of some other HS Impies, but enjoying the boozy rye richness and bitterness.
