Taking its name from both Mokha, a historical port city for the distribution of African coffees, and the Sidamo province in Ethiopia, Mokasida is a regional blend of coffees that showcases the subtle characteristics of East African beans. When paired with the chocolate and roast character of our imperial stout, Mokasida imparts notes of cocoa, blueberry, and sweet potatoes to make a truly unique beer.

On tap at Beer Temple. Black, no head. Aroma of cola, coffee, roasted malts, later on more chocolate and some bourbon notes. Flavour is sweet, roasted malts, some green coffee, coffee, dark chocolate. Medium bodied. Totally different from the original.

On tap at the Beertemple. Very dark brown pour with a thin, fine-grained tan head. Notes of chocolate, cocoa, roasted coffee beans, brewed coffee, light smoke. Silky-smooth texture, full body, low carbonation. Excellent mouthfeel, nicely balanced aromas. Very nice!

16 ounce prowler into snifter, filled on 11/4/2017. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a small dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big nutty medium roast coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toffee, vanilla, cream, brown sugar, and toasted dark bread; with lighter notes of smoke, molasses, raisin, berries, herbal, wood, and roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, coffee, and light earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of huge nutty medium roast coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toffee, vanilla, cream, brown sugar, and toasted dark bread; with lighter notes of smoke, molasses, raisin, berries, herbal, wood, and roast/toasted earthiness. Very mild herbal hop and roasted coffee bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of nutty coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toffee, vanilla, cream, brown sugar, toasted dark bread, light dark fruit/smoke, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, coffee, and light earthy hop flavors; with an awesome roasted bitter/sweet balance, and zero cloying/acrid flavors after the finish. Slightly increasing dryness from hop/roast bitterness. Light-medium carbonation and very full body; with a very creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel that is amazing. Slight slickness, chalky roast/coffee, and hop stickiness. Alcohol is very well hidden; a mildly increasing warmth of 12% lingering after the finish. Overall this is an amazing imperial coffee stout! All around incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, coffee, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the huge ABV. Not quite as amazing as the base beer, but unique in it's own right. Not as intense on the nose, but carbonation may be the factor. The African coffee adds a unique intensified dark fruit/berry note to the beer; and you get the same backing malt complexity otherwise. Not as intense on hop character and roast/char bitterness as well. A highly enjoyable offering as expected.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Aroma is fairly coffee forward with some light roast and chocolate notes. Some light fruit notes. Pours black with a medium sized, thick, mocha head that recedes to a thin film that lingers. Light lacing and small legs. Flavor is slightly sweet with some chocolate and roast notes. Moderate coffee notes. Some light dark fruit notes. Hints of alcohol. Mouthfeel is medium full.bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a decent beer but not amazing for speedway. The coffee character isn't great.

RBSG 17 grand tasting.Pours out a dark, ruddy brown topped with a beige head. Aroma is coffee up front, sitting on top of the classic Speedway roast malts. Taste introduces some cocoa notes, and some savory spice. Wonderful feel, and nice lingering finish.

Bottle at RBSG. Dark brown, near black pour with a small tan head. Big time coffee aroma, nice roast and hints of sweetness. Tastes of quality coffee and rich roasted malts. A little creamy sweetness to go along with a little char. Faint lingering bitters. Excellent.
