Bottle @ Bottiglia, Roma. Nice head with good duration. Coor is amber. Aroma and taste are rich hops, little caramel, flowers, fruits, malt and has a nice fruity finish.

33cl bottle. Pours clear dark amber colour with a huge good lasting beige head. Aroma of dry bitter hops, grassy, a bit malty, resins. Taste of intense bitter hops, resins, spruce, strong red malt, nuts, long bitter resinous finish, nice!

Bottle, 330 ml from Gradi Plato - Piazza Epiro, Rome. Pours clear amber with medium off-white head. Malty, piney, fruity, sweet, resinous, long bitter finish. Medium+ bodied. Nice, maybe too much on the sweet side, but didn’t bother me that much.

Tap. Reddish color with eggshell head. Aroma is piney, caramel, a bit boozy. Taste is the same, quite sticky. Oily mouthfeel. Quite an "American Strong"-style DIPA.

Brewdog Shoreditch. Keg. Clear deep amber beer, thin cream colour head. Palate is smooth and soft with some trailing nibbly carbonation. Softish caramel malts, semi sweet. Mild orange peel and marmalade. A little floral bitterness. Finishes light with a long spicy bitter linger. Not bad but after the US IPA I was hoping that beer ramped up and this is not that.

Bottle from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgie consumed at Frank (camper) Camping Trois Château Eguisheim, Alsace, France, Monday 20th June 2016 whilst cooking chicken wrapped in Alsace Jambon and served with salad. This is a jolly good DIPA, it is a solid beer the maltiness leaving it sitting somewhere between a DIPA and a Barley Wine, it really has a strident malty backbone to it. Copper in colour it is there is a possible citrussy edge but I like the maltiness here. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.5

Bottle @ LIBF’16. Shared with the RB Belgian team. Couleur dorée, col fin blanc. Arôme offre un bouquet plaisant houblonné tropical offrant un côté mangue et ponctué par une note d’agrumes. Malté pâle et caramel en retrait. Palais est assez haut en offre houblonnée au point de verser vers un léger DMS beurre que l’on retrouve avec certains houblons. Petite touche verte et une amertume fine mais persistante. Note sucre résiduel avec un malt solide qui laisse ample place aux houblons. A comparer, je préfère leur version pils imperial.

At LIBF. Creamy, moussy, lacing, egg-white head, warm amber robe. Dank but refreshing aroma of pink grapefruit, tangerine, wormwood, mango, passion fruit, toasted bread. Clean, crisp, sweetish and lightly sourish fruitiness, orange peel fraîcheur and growing grapefruity hoppiness over a sufficiently ’thick’ toasted malt body, leading to a resinous, aromatic, very long, spicy bitter finish with retronasal citrus and some tropical fruit, paired with a dash of warming, gin-like alcohol. A pretty DIPA in my opinion and another proof that Canediguerra is doing a good job at studying ’classic’ beer styles before venturing into more extreme or hybridized craft beers (relative in this case, as DIPA as such was generally considered extreme a mere dozen years ago...).
