Proof that traditional session beers don’t have to be bland. This light brown quaffing ale graces us with a hint of sweetness and caramel on the palate, with the dynamic duo of Challenger and Styrian Goldings hops imparting complimentary flavour, aroma and bitterness.

3rd Half at a beerfest in The George Inn, Eccleshall (April 2012). Hand pulled. Amber body with an off-white crown on top. Malts in the nose and taste, good flavours for the alcohol level: this is a fine session beer and I could quiet happily stayed on it all night, but there were other goodies to try!

Cask, handpump at The White Horse, Banbury, Oxon 05.03.12 Pours brown, good clarity with a slim white head. This is a textbook BBB, lightly fruity, lightly bitter, some caramel sweetness and with barely a whiff of excitement about it. Despite my rather boring comments on this beer, it was served in good nick, looked great and there was nothing wrong with it all all other than the fact it was a BBB. A6 A5 T5 P3 Ov11 3.0
