Notes found recently from a 2010 Wetherspoon Beer Festival. Slightly weak body but still full of flavour.

Cask @ The Wharf, Aalborg. Clear amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, light caramel and light hoppy - citrus. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet and light bitter finish. 040412

cask at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen. A hazy amber beer with a yellowish head. The aroma has notes of flowery hops and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of butterscotch, caramel, and malt, leading to a bitter finish.

Cask (handpump) @ The Alexander Graham Bell (JDW), 128 George Street, Edinburgh, Scotland EH2 4JZ.Clear medium amber colour with a average to large, creamy to frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain - caramel, straw notes, light hoppy, orange - citrus notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, sweet malt, burnt caramel bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20101031]

From cask at The Society Room. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is fruity and toffee malty. Dry malty, toffee and mild fruity hoppy flavoured. Bitter and dry into the finish.

[Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading] Amber, moderate off-white head, slight fizz. Floral hops with a hint of citrus, moderate bitterness. Decent enough bitter.

Cask at the Prince Arthur (JDW), Fleet. Golden amber with a loose translucent head; apple aroma; medium body with a sweet grainy malt flavour; then some sour bitter hops to finish. A reasonable golden ale.

Cask handpull at Westgate, JDW, Canterbury. Brown/russet. Some caramel, some hop on finish. It’s a bitter. Touch of wateryness. It’s a bitter. Some sting on finish.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms, Bristol 25/10/10. Amber coloured with a slight, off-white head. Cereal malt aroma with a touch of fruit. Flavour was also malty, with a decent bitter finish. Ok.
