A strong tasting ale which doesn’t negate any of the great flavour this ale has.

Cask at The Tyburn. Pours rich amber with a filmy, off-white head. Easy malt nose with some caramel hints. Fairly sweet flavor, with some grape fruitiness, light toffee malts, some booze, and very faint bitterness. Medium in body with fine carbonation. Some more caramel in the aftertaste, with light, syrupy sweetness, more alcohol and mild bread. Plenty of lingerin grape notes, too. Not bad overall. Could use some work, though.

Cask, handpull at The Standing Order JDW, Edinburgh, with Craig, Stella & Kids, Jan, Charlotte & Loz, 30.10.10 Crikey this is so much better than the bottle version, less sweet and cloying not as podgy a much better beer all round. I still get the warmth from the alcohol but it seems to suit this rather well, rich and tangy with some good fruitiness. This is actually a fairly decent beer from Wychwood, it’s just a shame that I was trying this alongside the Titanic New York Wheat Porter. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4
