Medium shiny white head. Hazy opaque yellow body with light carbonation. Funky barnyard (and, frankly, cow dung) aroma with perfumy notes of resin and freshly sawn wood. Dry intensely spicy and herbal taste with barnyard and lemongrass notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, slightly fizzy mouthfeel. Dry wooden barnyard aftertaste with herbal licorice notes. It’s nice, but a bit artificial and not really very harmonic. The flavours fail to gel completely. (0.4l draft at Grünerløkka Bryghus, Oslo.)

(Draught at Pikkulintu, 20111008) The beer poured yellow and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had citricness, sourness, fruitiness and hops. Palate was medium bodied and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were hops, citricness, sourness, malts and intense bitterness. Aftertaste was mildly sour and strongly bitter. Aroma was good but the bitterness dominated in the taste too much.

Pours yellow with a sticky foamy head. Aroma has notes of orange, spices and yeast. Taste is slightly sour with strong citrus, orange and spicy notes. Carbonated, a bit hoppy and bitter finish. Okay, a bit untypical Belgian styled ale.

On tap at Ølfestival 2011. It pours an unclear, light golden color, topped by a dense, off-white head leaving lacings. Lots of spices on the nose, with some pale malts and hints of brett. Spices, brett, pale malts, fruityness, some cinnamon and cardamom, and orange in the flavor, could use a bit more bitterness I think. A very unusual one, but nice indeed. 110526

Keg at Craft Beer Co. It pours straw yellow, with a thick white head. The nose is tangy orange, mango, apricot, farmyard, spice and herb. The taste is hay, straw, grass, farmyard, orange citrus fruit, spice, ginger, pear drops and herbs, with a pleasant dry finish. Medium body, fine carbonation, interesting complexity and good balance. Nice.

On tap at Craft Beer. Hazy gold beer, tidy white head. Dry crisp palate. It’s also light and turns frothy in the mouth. Herbs in a good grapefruit and yeasty bitter backdrop. Finishes with a trace of orange and crisp and dry. The herbs and grapefruit linger. Quite saison like and a nice crisp fresh beer.

Keg at the Craft Beer Co. Pours a mostly clear, yellow-gold with a strong, white head. Nose is crazy, lots of barnyard funk, manure and lemony citrus. Light sweet flavor, grassy hops, some lemon citrus, mild funk. Medium bodied with very smooth carbonation. Finish is ultra crisp, plenty of musk, citrus and barnyard. Lingering funk. Awesome beer. I am in awe.
