OIBF Collaboration Brew: the idea started with our mutual appreciation for pale, sour, fruity beers. So with BBnO, we decided that a Gose, light sour wheat beer with a bit of salt, would benefit from some peaches added in the fermenter. Then something unexpected happened on the second day of OIBF, when we made the wort for this beer. When we started the mash, we noticed quite some dark malts getting into the mash. This was a remainder of the previous brew, with Dave of Lervig, when we decided to add some more dark malts during the sparge of what was to become 'Frazzled'. During the brew day we saw that we were ending up with a brown beer. We still decided to stick with the plan and add peach puree in the fermenter. Thanks, David!

Fles van Biernavigatie, botteldatum 04/08/2016 THT 04/08/2017, volledige fles. Troebele bruine kleur, kleine grove schuimkraag. Trekt snel weg.

33 cl bottle @ home. Murky brown color. Off white head that disappears almost immediately. Aroma’s: sour, salty, wheaty, fruity. Retronasal ot’s very fruity (but not necessarily peach), sourish, salty. Flavor is moderate sour with a pinch of salt. Light bodied but enough carbonation not to make it too thin. Short finish.

0.33 l bottle from ’De Molen’, bottled in August 2016. Slightly hazy, dark brownish red with a thin, frothy, quickly diminishing, beige layer. Sourish-fruity, slightly roasty aroma of milk chocolate, red berries, peach and some caramel. Quite sour, moderately fruity and slightly roasty taste of milk chocolate, some coffee, red berries and a touch of peach, followed by a short, quite tart, a bit minerally and moderately roasty finish. Thin body, very astringent and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very bland, unbalanced and not very tasty as well. Not a big fan of Oedipus sours, but I somehow hoped that BBN would turn this into something good. Usually, with regard to the price, I would say that this is disappointing, but it’s actually quite what I expected.

Bottle. Muddy light brown color. Aroma of tart, sweet fruit and oak. Taste has malt, mild tart, metallic water and some sweet fruit that could be peach. Not the best one.

Bottle shared in Utrecht thanks to yespr - pours brown with a tiny off-white head. Aroma and taste is malty and fruity, with notes of peach coming through, light apricot, only a faint touch of salt into the close. Not sure on this one.
