Unquestionably the brewery’s best seller, this amber-coloured ale with strong hints of citrus and a hoppy full flavour develops into an enjoyable bitter finish.

Half-pint, cask ale, shared with Finn at Borough in Lancaster. Patchy white head, rich lacing, hazy orange coloured body. Moderate smell of herbal hops. Flavoured with ripe citrus and bread-like malts. Ends mid-sweet. Satisfying, a bit thin on the swallow. (06.02.2019).

On cask at the Haymarket. Appearance - golden orange and hazy with a decent head. Nose - delicate orange and biscuit. Taste - very unusual. A tangy sweet orange but without enough of either hoppy or biscuity freshness on the finish. Palate - close to medium bodied with a sweet tangy texture and a cloying sweet finish. Overall - points for being interesting but then it lost me.

Brown 500ml bottle consummed during one of my ’random beer tasting evenings’ just on its best before date in Oct 2010.. The beer had an almost dull look to it, dirty gold/amber in colour, neat white foaming head on top. The aroma was a mild citrusy hop smell, nothing much though. The flavours were a pleasant blend of hops and malts. Slightly more hops, although the malts were more noticeable in the first instance. Mid bodyfeel, nothing heavy but certainly not watery in any way. An OK beer and just above average in most aspects.

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. A clear, golden beer with a small, off-white head. Biscuits and toffee on the nose, citrusy hops as well. Citrusy, slightly sour, in a nice way that is, with biscuit pale malts and some toffee. Medium body. The finish is a bit short, but with a pleasant bitterness. Sure drinkable, but rather dull too. 110120
