Two Towns Downs At Home Beers #2 of 6 (First Night). Second of six cans from TTD. This black brew with no head was a little more strength infused than expected from something not at imperial levels, it does impact the taste somewhat. Nevertheless the sweetness of the strawberry can be found, withe blueberry a little on the sour side, enjoyed with hints of chocolate in aroma.

Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers Graham! Dark brown-black colour, no head and aroma of dark malt, chocolate, with strawberry & blueberry. Taste is malty, caramel, strawberry & blueberry notes, with some biscuit, zingy berry fruit and bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, biscuity tart berry fruity bitter finish. Quite drinkable.

29/11/2025. Can at the ITFC beer share. Bought direct from the brewery. 6.0% abv. Good pour. Very un-BIPA like. Very fruity. Lots of berry. Quite sour. Woody tobacco notes. BIPA’ness elements are totally hidden. More like a Flanders Red than a BIPA. Not as advertised or expected but did really like it.

Can from the Rheged Centre near Penrith - finally found a beer from Renfrewshire, yay! Brown-black with a thin tan head. Smells of cocoa and blackberries with some roasty malt. Taste is initially sooty and tart - bit of an odd combination. Big fruits come through - yes, definitely strawberry jam and fresh blueberries - along with some burnt toast. A little chocolate in the jammy finish. It's a really interesting brew; I'm not sure the flavours quite meld together, but I enjoyed it anyway because it was so different. Happy days!

Can picked up at Marshall's Farm Shop, Aberdeenshire. It pours pretty much black, opaque with a decent khaki head. The aroma is dark roasted maltage, bitter - sweet, cacao nibs, chocolate bourbons, jammy, tangy blueberry, blackberry, chocolate covered strawberries and burnt toast. The taste is bright berry character, tart, tangy, juicy, fizzy strawberry, bramble, blueberry, fruit wine, nip of acidity, bitter - sweet, charred pine, roasty vibes, burnt toast and dull alcohol presence with a toasty finale. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Novel and drinks fine, but the fruit dominates the base beer, so hard to identify this a black IPA blind.
