[Cask at the Cumberland Hotel, Alston] Watery, dusty bitter with a bit of caramel. OK session bitter, but dull and forgettable.

Cask Halfway house Edinburgh ... Yellow, lager like in appearence ... good mouth feel ... good balance ... fruity juicy with a distincive hop character ... little drying but no real bitterness ... little sherbert in linger.

Cask gravity at Reading BF 06. Pale copper with lasting white head. Dull bitter, some of everything, but nothing distinctive. Some earthiness, fine.

[Cask at Volunteers Arms, GBBF, 2004] An orange beer with a small white head. The aroma is sweet caramel with notes of yeast. The flavor is dry hoppy with notes of caramel and honey leading to a dry end.

There are two Yates breweries in England (completely separate from one another). One is on the Isle of Wight, but this one is in the north. This bitter has a light amber colour and fresh hop character. My notes say "english drinking hops". I can't decide if this is a stroke of whimsy or an example of end-of-fest incoherence.
