Cask at the Alexandra Arms, Rugby, 16/12/13. Chestnut brown with a good sized light beige covering. Nose is dark fruit, candied orange peel, sugars, fruit loaf, toffee, light spice. Taste comprises cake mix, toffee, raisens, candied oranges, fruit peel. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, sweet finale with a little spice. Decent Xmas beer, actually has some depth to the flavours, not just artifical spice and few spoons more sugar!

Cask at the White Lady. Surprisingly pale red-brown pour, expected a darker beer. Some chocolate on the nose, otherwise just "malty". Taste is sweet, finish is sweet. I wouldn’t go so far as to say "lyrically". I would say it was "watery" instead. OK.

Cask@The Ice Wharf, Camden, London. Rubyish brown colour with mediumsized beige head. Aroma is caramel malts, chocolate, some nuttyness as well as some hints of fruits and some earthy notes. Flavour is quite much the same in a nice balance. Nutty and caramelly finish.

Cask at the Nags Head, Reading. Deep mahogany in colour with a beige head; treacle aroma; complex flavour with lots of sweet malt and hints of tar, licorice and roasted nuts; the finish is dry and smoky with a sustained but gentle hoppy bitterness. Excellent.
