Sampled from draft at Kimchi Festival 2016. Big espresso dark roast up front. Burnt chocolate malts, coffee. Quite sweet, deep coffee bitter. Medium body, soft carbonation. Very nice coffee beer! Very fresh and deep roast aroma. (Poured severely cold and yet amazing aroma’s). Had it again the next day and let it warm. Good stuff. // again from tap at Jopen kerk. Amazing coffee aroma.

Draft at Jopenkerk, Haarlem. Near black with a thick beige head. Aroma of huge lovely coffee, roasty, fudge, chocolate, malt, licorice and caramel. Flavour is light heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Full bodied with a moderate thick texture and soft carbonation. This is a really excellent, perfectly balanced impy from Jopen. Possibly the best beer they’ve made. [06/08/16]

On tap at ’Jopen Proeflokaal Waarderpolder’. Pitch black with a frothy, dark beige head. Sweetish, malty and quite roasty aroma of lots of coffee, dark chocolate, some licorice and a touch of hazelnut. Sweetish, malty and quite roasty taste of lots of coffee, dark chocolate, some licorice and a touch of hazelnut, followed by a medium long, quite roasty but just slightly bitter finish. A bit over medium-bodied, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Tasty stuff, but surprisingly thin for that abv.

On tap at Jopen Proeflokaal Waarderpolder. Black colour, thick creamy beige head. Aroma of loads of coffee, ground coffee, liquorice, cappuccino, alcohol. Flavour of coffee, typical Jopen candy flavour (yeast? Still don’t know what it is, it bugs me), liquorice, roasted malts, alcohol, coffee bitter finish. Full bodied, smooth. Good.
