Cask at the Star and Garter, South Wigston. Nice creamy head and loads of lacing. If there was ever a classic English bitter, this is it! It brings back all those memories of England's pleasant green pastures. Probably won't win too many awards but it's a great session beer for any time of the year. Slightly spicy malty taste with a lingering bitter aftertaste. It didn't really touch the back of my throat it must be said. So smooth that I think I'll have another! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma is light to moderate malty, sour malt notes, light yeasty, UK yeast. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat to soft. 12th April 2010. Clear amber beer. No head and no bloody carbonation! Grrr! Light semi dry palate. Light malt and light hops - I’m surprised this beer doesn’t float off like a bloddy Nimble balloon! Well balanced but utterly ephemeral beer. Some carbonation might have grounded this!

[Cask at the Hope Tap, Reading] Amber, moderate white head. Brown water with a slight bitterness and hints of fruit and sewage. Very dull, and fairly nasty.

Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading. Amber with a thin beige head; fruity aroma; sweet earthy malt flavour; and a finish that’s dry, biscuity, and lightly hopped. A basic, inoffensive, bitter, and better than most Everards brews I’ve tried.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms, Bristol 17/04/10. Amber in colour with a slight white head. A malty bitter, with a touch of caramel and some fruity hops, leading to a short, bitter finish. Ok, if not memorable.

Cask handpull at Thomas Ingoldsby, JDW, Canterbury. Copper colour disappearing head. OK session bitter with some decent malt, some biscuit on finsh and some dryness. Does what a session bitter should, pints go down with no notice but with enough taste to want to try more. Good biscuit.

Cask @ Bon Accord. Clear dark golden colour, off-white head. Aroma is hoppy, a bit flowery, and malty. Flavour of vegetable hops, some spices, malty backbone. Fairly bitter and dry finish.
