The incredibly subtle, elegant and mellow flavour of Oude Geuze VAT 91 has its origins in foeder No. 91, which used to be a calvados vat in Normandy. Today this foeder is creating excellent, mild Lambic beer, perfect for Oude Geuze. VAT 91 is soft, rounded, full-bodied, complex and balanced.

Bottle @ home. Rather clear amber colour, white foam. Dry and grassy gueuze with notes of leather and green apple, dry cider. Lots of apple skin. Rather bitter and dry gueuze.

Level 6 Bottleshare. Thanks to Dan. Hazy gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth and mildly dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Soft and sweestish malts, touch of cream. Contrasting and mildly bitter woody gueuze vibe. Light finish. Interesting and approachable.

Bottle at DS, big thanks to Dan. it pours hazy orange with a small white head. The aroma is earthy, musty, funky, earth, barnyard, wood, old rope, vanilla, sweat, apricot, peach, spice and hay. The taste is crisp, dry, tart, spritzy, sherbet, quite clean, orange peel, orange, kumquat, minerals, straw, firmly dry wood and floral notes. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Well rounded and quaffable. Nice.

Bottle. Apple, lemon, musty basement, vinegar, malt, and straw aroma. Slightly hazy golden yellow with large white head. Mildly sweet citrus/apple, malt, yeast, moderately sour vinegar/citric acid, and mildly bitter dry hay flavor. Okay body. Pleasant - very fruity. My favorite between 91, 92, 108, and 110.
