Cask@GBBF2010 (shared with FatPhil!). Deep ambery brown colour with a bubbly small head. Aroma is mildly roasted malts along with some mild dark dry fruits and berryish notes. Flavour is roasted malts, mild toffee, some slight bitter hops as well. Gets a bit more berryish after you’ve had it in the glass for a while.

Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 28th Sept 2010. Dark ruby with white ring-and-film head. Plenty of roast malt and bitterness after a fruity start. An increasingly bitter finish, tinged with berry fruit. Very satisfying, zingy mouthfeel. More-ish.

Cask (handpump) @ NWAF 10, National Winter Ales Festival, The Venue, Sheridan Suite, Manchester, England.Clear medium dark amber color with a average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, hay, roasted, caramel, keller, light hoppy. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. (Cask at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 21 May 2010) Dark brown colour, almost black, with frothy beige head. Roasted, malty nose with notes of chocolate and dark fruit. Roasted, malty taste with chocolate, a touch of coffee, dark fruit and a certain citrussy bitterness in the finish. Rather thin body, balanced sweetness. A really tasty and nice mild.

Cask gravity at Reading BF 08. I stood at the bar and rated all the Wolf beers that I haven’t had before. Very deep chestnut/dark brown with thin beige head. Some caramel/toffee. Decent condition. OK session bitter. Not huge flavour, but what is there is drinkable. Tangy hop on finish. Fine.
