Cask at the Playhouse Spoons, Colchester. Not in the fest list but sold like it is! Clear deep amber beer, good pale tan head. Smooth palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Slightly tangy malts, a modest and unsweet caramel. Ripe fruits abound. Ripe plum and citrus. A light and semi dry finish. Decent cask affair.

Half-pint, cask, shared with Finn at Bell Hotel (JDW). Decent beige head over a near-black body with a ruby glint, spotty lacing. Lightly roasted nose of dark malts. Honeyed malty flavours with a biscuit vibe. Smooth roasted end, mid-sweet. Pretty fair. (Norwich 11.11.2021).

19/6/2020. Take-out cask from the Duke of York, Ipswich. Pours dark brown with a slight ruby tint and a bubbly off-white head. Aroma is light roasted, milk chocolate, toffee, malt, nut and dark fruits. Moderate sweetness and light roasted bitterness. Moderate body, soft carbonation. Easy drinking, traditional, nice.

Cask at the Duke of Wellington - Norwich. Pours clear brown with a frothy tan head .the aroma holds tangy berries and butterscotch. Light-medium sweet flavorbwith tangy, leathery berries, mild toffee, toasty bread. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes sweet, with more tangy berries, plum, toffee and butterscotch. Not in ideal condition, I would guess.

Half-pint at the 2014 Lincoln Beer Festival. Nice easy drinking Mild with a good malty backbone and hop bitter undertone. Reddy brown and wholesome looking it gave off semi-sweet maltiness in the nose, less sweetness in the taste. Had some good Milds this May, this Wolf’s offering is one of the best.
