Had this at Karmelieten Biergärten, Straubing, Sunday 14th April 2024. Pours hazy mid brown with an off white head. A touch of spice on the nose, a little bready also. In the mouth there is a pleasant tang, cereal and again breadiness comes back. Nice mouthfeel, nice beer.

Herber, wenig säuerlicher Beginn mit konstanter dunkler Malzigkeit. Wässrig, trocken bitter. Zum Ende dazu säuerlich. Wie das helle Weizen eindimensional. 8/7/6/8/8/7

Bottle. Beautifull cloudy mahagony with a big golden-brown head. Allspice, clove, pumpernickel and light vanila aroma. Rich roasted bread, roasted grain and spice flavor profile, berries and a citric note retronasal. Chewyyet sarkly mouthfeel. Very nice, one of the more complex dunkelweizen.

Hazy chestnut colour, large off-white head. Medium-bodied, malty with lots of caramel and roast flavours. Herbal hopy present, giving it a shy medicinal character. Hints of licorice. Rather hoppy in the finish.

(bottle) Cloudy, chestnut-brown colour with a big and tanned foamy head. Distinctively berry-fruity and wheaty aroma with traces of caramel and cloves in the background. Mildly sour flavour, light to medium bodied with a sparkling carbonation. Delicately toasted malty and wheaty taste with notes of dark and red berries, traces of caramel and mildly phenolic spices; slightly sour-fruity and minimally toast-malty finish. A decent example of the style. 15.VIII.11
