Celebrating the Grand Illumination of Williamsburg each year, our Barleywine style ale is a massive 11% offering that takes us over 5 hours to boil. The long boil time creates a bold caramel tone and is balanced with our signature Amarillo/Cascade hops blend.

2009 Toffee, leather. Pours hazy brown with decent mocha head. Lots of barrel in here. It's like bitter astringent finish. Perfume. Decent. 837316 2010. Toffee and leather. I think the 2009 was better. Tangy boozy finish. Orange brown pour. 837315

2012-037 Bottle. Pours clear burnt sienna, medium light burnt sienna head that dissipates fairly quickly with some lacing. Aroma is loads of caramel, toffee, a bit of orange zest, pine. Flavor follows, medium sweet, medium plus bitter, some cardboard, lots of pine. Fairly harsh finish, bitter bitter. Medium body, a bit creamy in the mouth. May have waited to long to try this one.

22 oz. bottle. 2012 vintage. Dark amber, light thin head retention. Nose has a large hop profile with caramel and syrupy toffee. Toffee and caramel are on the real syrupy texture. flavor really borders on cloying. If you like big overly sweet barley wines this is your brew.
