500mL bottle, undated (is old), drunk 5/29/24. Clear, mahogany-auburn. Still has a lovely, creamy-dark-beige head that slowly recedes to partial cover. Nose is fruity, rich, malty with mellow, well-aged acidity. Cherry, strawberry, raspberry and vanilla with gentle but balancing oak. Black pepper and lingering tannin. Very nicely-done to style. Also this is 14 years old. Hint of nutty oxidation but with mostly juicy acetic acid, though rounded by ample maltiness and light vanilla-like notes. Rich honey, oak, light wine and plentiful lacto character creates a very authentic flanders that is better than most Rodenbachs I've had. Some lingering brett, an incredibly soft, supple, lightly tannic and oily palate with, somehow, plentiful malt depth still remaining. Wow. A shame these guys are effectively gone.

Bottled on the RBSG bus. dirty brown color. Nose of chocolate, acid, cherry. Moldy cherry and chocolate flavor, quite sour but a bit plain overall. Not a very impressive Flanders Red.

Bottle from So. CA; some time ago. Pours a bit ruby with a foamy beige head. Mild "cherry" sour aroma. Medium body; mild carbonation. Flavor is oaky, cherry sour. Really quite refreshing. Ends on a strong tannic sour note.

Nice version of the style, I get lots of tart cherry and general wild characteristics. The tart cherry sticks around the palate for a little bit. Unfortunately, it is not that special compared to the traditional brews and some of the new wonderful versions.
