10oz goblet at Kaelderkold Barcelona pours a hazy bright red with some lacing white head. Nose is bright with cherry, some cough syrup, plenty of funk, band aid, wood pulp, some candy sugar, a little raspberry too. Flavor is slick and sweet, cherry candies, some raspberry, a little bit of raspberry vinaigrette. Mostly clean finish. Hides the alcohol well.

Bottle sample @ BAB’14. Acajou, col blanc fin.

#50 Alvinne beer. Sampled draft @ Brugs Bier Festival 2014. Reddish, hazy bright, little head. Tart & fruity nose, tart wine mixed with syrup, sweetish malty with touch cherries, fruits. Taste is a odd mix that doesn’t work for me, tastes of vinegar, glue, sweet malts & sugar that doesn’t mix with tart wine, sour berries, candy, lemon, cherries, very contradictory, never comes together for me. Lower c arb. sticky body. This mix doesn’t work in any way for me.

Draught Deep red beer with faint red foam. Intense with a smoked cherry nose. Taste matching the nose, with a kind of brandy-like addition (spoiling strictly nothing), fruity esters. Medium to well bodied, thanks to the ethanol mainly fruit-filled. One-off special, but well worth searching;.

[10/20/13] Draught at Eurhop Beer Festival 2013 in Rome. Clear deep red-amber. Lovely aroma, sourish and oaky, with cherries and malt. Sourish-sweetish flavor with cookies, malt, cherries, vinous notes, caramel, quite a bit of oak and a rather dry finish. Medium-bodied. Nice stuff.
