Bottle shared with the Chicago crew, thanks to Adam! Pours a hazy brown with a white head that dissipates moderately. Aroma has a surprisingly dominate nutty note, chestnut. There is just a bit of underlying smokiness and a hint of sweet caramel or honey, but not much else that I pick up. Flavor is better balanced as it begins with sweet tart fruits and some honey. A roasted note as well as the chestnut note join in to create a unique beer.

RBWG’10 pours amber, light tan head. Aroma, light jam/puree fruits, some sweet notes with touch of nuts and smoke. Flavors, lightly nutty on the palate followed by light malt touch and some berry jam finish, touch of honey like sweetness and light smoked malts. Delicious interpretation of an Italian favorite using chestnuts mixed with teh goodness of Belgian abbey yeast. This is tasty!
