500ml Bottle: BBD two weeks before I opened it on 20th Oct 2013. Looked fine in my Abbot Ale glass tankard. Amber/chestnut in colour with a full off-white creamy head of foam. The malt content rules both the nose and taste: caramel and dark fruit notes being the flavours and aromas I found. Semi-sweet and full bodied with a slight bitter finish. I like maltier brews, so this falls nicely into my range.

500ml bottle. Clear chestnut brown amber colour, with short-lived tan head and fruity malt, caramel and toffee aroma. Initial caramel taste, with a fruity bitterness that lingers along with some sweetness, and layered against a smooth malty flavour. Medium body, warming mouth feel. Quite drinkable.

50cl bottle from Tesco, Camberley. Chestnut brown with a ring of off-white head; rather musty malt aroma; rich and chewy caramel malt flavour with some caramel and poached pears; leaving a treacly finish. A really pleasant, fruity, strong ale.
