An Amber coloured beer with plenty of character, bursting with hoppiness
The History
Cambridge has a long association with research into the nature of the atom. The Cavendish Laboratory is a world leading research centre into atomic and nuclear physics. Established in 1874 under the guidance of James Clerk Maxwell the Cavendish laboratory has had many notable researchers as students and also staff. JJ Thomson, who discovered the electron, was a Cavendish Professor. A small plaque in Free School Lane commemorates the discovery. Thomson’s students included Ernest Rutherford, who discovered nuclear fission, and Charles Wilson, who invented the cloud chamber.

Very suprised to find this bottle in a shop located in North East Lincolnshire (Cleethorpes to be exact). The original review has been lost on the BA site somehow, so this is a quick check of my memory. Average throughout, I was disappointed with it to be honest. I’ll review it again if i ever come across it, honest!

Very lively goldy brown beer. Sharp and effervescent - almost lambic like! Bitterish grapefruit and orange dry finish. Unusual beer.

Bottle, 4.5%. Weak grapefruity aroma. Hazy golden colour. Very small white head. The flavour is a little papery with a weak grapefruit note. A bit yeasty finish, but somehow yet clean.

Bottle that I purchased at Waitrose, Nr Cambridge June 09, consumed at Cropredy Festival, Oxon, 14-08-09 This was really quite strange to drink this after Pizza Port Shark Attack, JW Lees Harvest (sherry cask) and other such big hitters. Pours amber with white head, hoppy citric nose. Earthy hoppy and malty flavour, nice bitterness, its fine. A6 A3 F6 P3 Ov12 3.0
