Fergus Mor: the legendary king of Dal Riata was the founder of Scotland according to Medieval and Renaissance myth. Rulers of Scotland throughout its history have claimed descent from Fergus Mor. A fitting name for this, the first beer in the Campeador series, a barrel aged collaboration of Cigar City Brewing and Knightly Spirits. Fergus Mor is a blend of Big Sound Scotch Ale and Bolita Brown Ale, topped off with a wee bit of Imperial Stout and aged in a Buffalo Trace bourbon barrel. Limited release of 204 - 750ml bottles.

Tasting at PapsΓΈ
Dark mahogany color; small creamy head. Nice combination of caramel aroma and vanilla oak, whiskey, wood, light smoke; dynamic. The body is well structured; strong caramel flavor, quite sweet, with a very pleasant whiskey-Bourbon-vanilla component, and chocolate in the end; the whiskey also leaves an evident alcohol trace. Correct bitterness, the final has A bit alcoholic, but very good.

Bottle shared by Adam, thanks! Poured a hazy dark brown with a grayish brown head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma had a pretty present bourbon note as well as light fruit dark grains, roasted malts and a bit of chocolate. Flavor began with sweet dark grains and bread, chocolate and roasted malts which were joined by a growing bourbon note.

Bottled @ Dutch "the Good, the Bad & the Ugly" tasting. Hazy brown color, short head. Loads of bourbon in aroma. Sweet, malty, slight alcohol, cookie, bourbon. Hmmm, lovely stuff. Blending, aging, brewers reserve, whatever, Keep it coming please!

Bottle thanks to cmillward: This poured a chocolate brown with a beige head. Aroma was mix of nuts, malt, and woods. Taste was very complex with malts, nutty, bourbon, and woods. You could tell that it was blend of several of my favorite CCB beers, however not one overpowered the other making it an extremely balanced beer.

22oz bottle pours a transparent, watery, deep copper brown with very little, spitty head. Nose is boozy, rum, coconut, a little apple brandy, cookie dough, malts, brown sugar. Flavor is cold coffee, vanilla extract, chocolate, bread, coconut, wood pulp. Finish is full bodied and sticky. Pretty good, but not a revelation.

bottle at RBWG pours dark brown with a medium light tan head. Aroma is all bourbon and oak. Flavor is rich brown ale notes of coffee and toasted malt with a soft bourbon note riding the background and a strange almost licorice note in the finish. Nice stuff.
