Keg at Old Coffee House. Back from the dead! It pours deep reddish - brown with a medium foamy white head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, caramel, cola cubes, red cola, cherry cola and fruit cake. The taste is bitter - sweet, toffee, raisin, fruit cake, bit of spice, earth, leather, red berry, cherry cola and tannin with a drying finish. Medium body and moderate, prickly carbonation. Pretty ok stuff for the style.

Keg at the Crosse Keys, 30/05/18. Reddish amber with a decent beige covering. Nose is biscuit malts, dried fruits, brown bread. Taste comprises orange peel, biscuit crumbs, light soap, caramel, light mineral bite. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with moderate hop bitterness. Passable example of the style.

Bottle at home. Hazy amber beer. Little white head. Light dry palate. Slightly sourish malt, a bit over tangy. A little hop bitterness before an overdry finish and a bitterish aftertaste. Possibly slightly infected.

Gravity cask at the Bree Louise. Pours a rich, amber-brown with no head. Aroma holds toasty malts, light citrus hops and some dark fruit. Flavor is nice, malty with some earthy bitterness and mild nuts. Light to medium in body with soft carbonation. Finishes with an easy hop character, lightly toasted malts, faint caramel and fruits. A nice beer.

From cask at the brewpub. Pours clear and golden deep amber with a small tan head. Aroma is fruity, light hoppy. Fruity, peachy and citrusy to berry flavoured. Solid bitterness coming through the berry/hoppy flavours. Roasted malt and bitter hoppy to fruity finish.

Cask på William IV, Leyton 29 Sep 10. Mørk brun med antydning til rødt. Film-skum. Svak duft av plommer. Litt lett på smak, men antydning til tung frukt etter hvert. Tørr bitter ettersmak.

500ml bottle from William IV pub, Leyton, drunk at home. It’s a very good malty fruity bitter with some milk choc flavours and some bitterness on the finish. The fruity malt reminds me of some Danish beers I’ve had funnily enough. Having had 17 of the beers on cask yesterday, I would say the bottles don’t stand up so well. Above average fruity best bitter.

Cask at the Crosse Keys, Covent Garden. Reddish-brown pour with a beige head. Berries, raisins and light malt aromas. Blackberry, cloves, raspberry flavours. Nice hoppy, fruity finish. Very pleasant.

Bottle 500ml.Clear medium amber color with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, nutty, earth, leather notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, flowers, berry, wood. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20100101]
