500ml bottle. As Marks & Spencer Welsh Honey Bitter. Pours a lemon golden with a small head. Smells a bit yeasty with some citrus and a hint of honey. Not much to taste, very gassy and an astringent finish. Not that nice, to be honest.

Small offwhite head doesn’t last. Deep coppery body. Spicy milk and honey aroma, very harmonic. Dry strawy floral earthy taste with mealy notes. Mid-bodied. Sharpish mouthfeel. Dry mealy earthy peas aftertaste sort of ends in nothing. Quite nice, but not major. (0.5l bottle, RealAle.com.)

bottle, Marks & Spencer Monmouth, labelled M&S Welsh Honey Bitter. Golden colour, slightly hazy, small white head. Malty with lovely honey flavours and hints of herbs. Lingering finish with a good touch of aromatic and bitter hops.

Cask, Telford Warehouse, Chester. Darkish amber colour with a thin off white head. Honey there somewhere in the aroma. Caramel malt flavour with a bit of fragrant hop towards the finish. Lacking any real body and not one of the better honey flavoured beers I’ve tasted.

[500ml bottle of Marks and Spencer Welsh Honey Bitter.] Very lively on opening, despite standing for a week. Pale amber with a billowing white head that rapidly fell back to a thin film; large particles of sediment that quickly settled leaving a light carbonation. Strong, well perfumed, honey aroma - obviously made with the real thing. Light and soft in the mouth, lacking in body and depth but with some light fruit; nicely bitter finish with just a hint of honey. Rather nice.

Bottle picked up at Marches Little Beer Shoppe, Ludlow, Salop 18-10-08 consumed 21-10-08 Pours hazy golden colour but initially quite high carbonation. The honey is done rather well in this beer as there is still rather a nice bitterness showing, its not too sweet and quite soft in the mouth, really liked this beer.
