This refreshing slightly tart ale is perfect for warm DC nights. Brewed with Pilsen, White Wheat, and Carapils malts, this kettle sour gets an addition of lime to create a crisp, effervescent, tart but not overpoweringly sour crusher. Medium bodied, spritzy, the first sip leaves you refreshed and looking forward to the next sip. Chosen as the best beer in Washington, DC by the American Homebrewers Association members in the 2020 Best Beers in America survey!

Can split at the DC tasting, at Nimbleprop pad, 13/04/23. Moderately hazed golden yellow with a thin off white cap. Nose is herb, grains, lemon rind, lime nip, straw, hedgerow. Taste comprises lemon sherbet, straw, grass, herb. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. So so sour ... rather stuck at the bottom end of 3rd gear.

12oz can pour at the April DC Ratebeer tasting. Poured a mostly clear yellow color, a fizzy head. Aroma was light lemon-lime, mostly lime zest. Light funky notes, some bubbly, fizzy finish.

Crystal clear golden coloured body with a large, five centimetre tall off-white head that fades just as quickly as soda, but leaves nothing up top. Aroma of pure brine, salt, sugar and more grated ginger that I could possibly imagine in a beer - if someone had told me this was ginger ale, I would have agreed aside from the slightly funky yeast and breadiness noticeable at the end of the scent. Light-bodied; Very pungent brine and pure salt notes dominate with a odd stale and funky bretty and more lactobilly soured yeast pungency, especially noticeable at the very end. Aftertaste shows a lot of ginger, a good deal of citrus, some soap, grain and yeast notes that all end with a crisp malt note and quite a bit of sweetness. Overall, an odd gose, but definitely showing salt and yeast, but the ginger hits harder than any soured or tart notes, and makes it feel like a Moscow Mule more than anything else. Not really recommended to anyone unless those who like Moscow Mules or want a ginger-based beer. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from the Department of Beer and Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 24-July-2020 for US$2,33 sampled at my house here in Washington on 01-October-2020.

Lime for sure, and not a lot else. Pours murky yellow without much head. Super tangy end. Not finishing this one. Can.
