Mosaic is the apple of many a beer geek’s eye, and with good reason as this variety is a full flavoured banger of a hop! The sensory spectrum is a thing of beauty, from blueberry to mango and lemon with floral notes and hints of pine and spice. It brings so much to the table (or glass) and is a hop we love to use.

Hops - Mosaic
Malt - Low Colour Maris Otter, Carapils, Oat Malt & Wheat

Tap at Colmore, Birmingham. Hazy orange gold with nice looking white head. Fruity citrus and apricot, semi drying and pithy, light medicinal. Medium bodied, fine to frothy carbonation. Enjoyable.

Can. Mildly hazy gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, airy and mildly dry, decent fine carbonation emerging on the back end. Soft malts, a pleasing light creamy sweetness. Decent Mosaic hops, much of 2022 has seen a return to form of this hop for me. Not as good as its heyday debut but 80% there which is much better than its anonymous status over the last decade plus. Here, there is soft skunk and soft blueberry and yes, soft pine. Something vaguely tropical on the back end. Light airy finish. Nice job and a return to form for this series, which went slightly astray with Talus version.

Nose is bitter orange, grass, pine needle, grapefruit zest, airy malts, citric tinged straw. Taste comprises orange pith, grass, papaya, ripe melon, tangerine, airy malts. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spliced with balanced juicy come grassy hop bitterness. Solid APA.

Rocky white head on an unclear golden coloured body. Punchy aroma of sweet exotic fruits & nectarine. Medium bodied, lightly carbonated with a smoother cloying back. Nectarine, mango, hints of herbal & lemon tastes with a peppery finish. Deece.

Can. Thornbridge subscription box. Best yet. Lovely fruity mosaic. Clean and easy drinking. Nicely bitter and a little dry. Maybe a touch of soapiness but overall it’s one I could go multiples of. Nice one.
