Bloomsbury Brown was brewed to commemorate the company’s long association with Charleston, where the ‘Bloomsbury Group’ used as a meeting place during the first half of the twentieth century. Harveys delivered beer to Duncan Grant over many years and a bottle is still occasionally featured in his still life compositions.
A traditional Brown Ale. Sweet and dark with a nutty palate and discreet bitterness. A refreshing drink which may be served with a wide variety of foods or enjoyed in its own right.

--> Sehr leckeres dunkles Mild Ale! 12/13/13/13

Bottle at my Pre-CBC Tune-Up Tasting, big thanks to the legendary Duff for pulling these Harveys out of the bag.... It pours clear deep brown, with a bubbly off-white head. The nose is leaf, toast and soap. The taste is caramel, roasted malt, nut, toast, brown sugar, leaf and soap, with a dry finish. Light body and fine carbonation. Easy drinking for sure, just a little unexciting.

Bottle at the CBC Tune-Up, London. Huge thanks to Duff for pulling this one out. Pours a clear, red-brown with a creamy, light beige head. Doughy-toasty malt nose. Medium sweet flavor, some sugary bread, caramel, light toasty leaves, maybe some ripe fruits. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, more sweet bread, mild caramel. Pretty basic but easygoing. Thanks again Duff for going out of your way to bring us this beer. It was served at optimal temperature, too. Thanks, Duff.

375ml bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring. Poured a truly glorious colour - deep copper with a reddish glint, but with no head to speak of; rich, earthy, malt aroma; smooth and reasonably full in the mouth with more earthy malts, some raisiny sweetness, and some brazil nuts; and a gentle finish. A excellent old-fashioned mild.

Harveys mild ale är en fin representant för genren. nötig, söt, rostad malt och väldigt rund och len. Inte mycket humle eller beska.

Bottled. Amber colour, not much head. Aroma is nutty, caramelly and also has some slight wooden notes. Flavour is being quite much the same along with mild cardboardy notes. Rather sugary sweet, but well drinkable.
