With all the glow of a midsummer sunrise, this popular golden ale is a thirst quenching and complex beer with a truly broad appeal. Lightly bitter, subtly floral, and buzzing with zesty citrus, soft fruits and spices – it benefits greatly from the Cascade hop from which it takes it’s name.

Cask at the Alexandra Arms, Cambridge. Golden with some wispy white head. Decent aroma with some tangerine and cereal. Taste is bittersweet and has that Cascade punch, but this is met with a slightly sulphurous acidity near the finish. Drinkable but not perfect.

Hazy amber beer, good white head. Semi crisp palate. Fresh minerally malt, nicely balanced with light orange and tangerine hops. Turns fairly soft in the mid but finishes with a carbonated snap. Fresh clean beer, refreshing. Double the hops and it would be very good indeed!

(Cask at The Rake, Southwark, London, 23 July 2011) Pale amber colour with foamy, white head. Fruity nose with citrus, apricots and mild aromas of fresh hops. Fruity, slightly malty taste with notes of citrus, biscuity malt, orange peel and fresh citric hops in a finish with a fairly mild bitterness. Medium body, with balanced sweetness. Quite nice.

Cask@GBBF 2009. Golden color, small steady white head. Malty, light citrus hoppy aroma. Light citrusy Cascade hops, some backing malts. A bit boring, although would go with food.
