Gravity cask at Hog and Partridge, St Neots. Light to mid gold. Tight little white head. Floral/peach aroma, very weak so difficult to get much more. Innocuous sweet taste followed by a lip-smacking bitterness. Light palate. Just ok.

Pint taken at the Brewery Visitor Centre in Wainfleet on 4th Sep 2010. The abreviation means ’Good Honest Ale’, which has been the Batemans logo for years. Pours a lovely golden straw colour with a small but complete white head. The East Coast Goldings and Challenger hops give the beer a fine spicey hop aroma and add bitterness into the taste which become more pronounced as the mouth dries. Mild citrus feel to the initial sips, before the hops take over. Well balanced and pleasant to drink.

Cask at The Wharf. A clear golden beer topped by a small, white head. Biscuity malts and fruits on the aroma, quite citrusy. It is dry and medium bodied with a good citrusy bitterness and some crackery pale malts. A quenching beer with a pleasant hop addition. Nothing special though. 101020
