Cask @ The Albert, Hebden Bridge. Amber with a creamy head. Has some malt in its nose with hints of fruit in a fuller bodied ale that has a decent easy drinking smoothness with a crisp and clean taste.

Tap at the brewpub, one third glass. Straw coloured body. Tiny white lacing-head blanketing the glass. Sweaty hops n the nose. Herbal hoppy flavours together with earthy malts. Oily palate. Watered on the swallow. Anonymous (Derby 22.02.2015).

Cask at the Bricklayers Arms, Bishops Stortford. Mid to dark gold. White grape aroma. Taste is less palatable: the hop flavour is marred by a buttery sourness. The malt backbone reasserts at the most inopportune moment like Polonius shouting for help beyond the arras. This isn’t off, but the recipe isn’t quite right.

Pale blond colour. It’s very thin and watery and lacks body and depth. Has a very bitter finish.

Cask@GBBF2009. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is quite much citrusfruit along with wood and some eggy notes. Flavour is very grassy and hayish. Mild nectary sweetness as well.

Cask@GBBF 2009. Yellow color, small white head. Aroma of pear and alcohol (!). Dry woody-honeyish flavor. Dry aftertaste. Very odd. Almost like dry perry.

Cask at GBBF 05-08-09 Pours light/mid gold with a white head very good clarity. Soft and creamy in the mouth with vanilla showing, nice hoppiness but balanced out well by a sweet fruitiness. Enjoyable stuff and very good for the abv. A6 A4 F7 P3 Ov13 3.3

Cask at the Royal Standard, Derby. Amber with a creamy white head; malty aroma; creamy and smooth in the mouth with sour fruity malts; then a well-balanced fruity bitter finish. Excellent.
