Bottle from Sterk Amsterdam. Aroma is sweet banana, ripe fruits, wheaty malt, notes of bubble gum, yeast, and clove, with a touch of citrus. Flavour is medium sweet and lightly bitter. Body is medium. Not a bad Hefe, though a bit on the sweet side.

Bottled (from Ales by Mail). Hazy orangeish golden colour with a mediumsized white head. Aroma is wheat, some citrus, mild spiciness as well as some banana to it. Flavour is wheat, banana, some citrus, mild spices as well as some slight toffee. Smooth, but has a bit edgy crisp malts to it.

[12oz bottle from Total Wines, Huntington Beach, CA.] A hazy amber pour with a ring of white head and a rather flat appearance; aroma of cloves and banana; lifeless in the mouth with a clove and banana taste. Disappointing.

Hazy blond with thin head. Quite lightly flavoured with sweet grains. The yeast adds a light spiciness and a sweetness too.

12oz bottle in the sun on 23rd May 2016, poured into a Corsendonk badged tulip glass on my daughters patio in Southern California, about 20 miles from the brewery. Cloudy orange/amber bodied, creamy coloured head. Banana aroma and taste with a yeasty and slightly orange undertone. Nice and refreshing, one of the best ’American Hefeweizen’ I have had.

355ml bottle. Cloudy, dark orangey colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Ester fruity aroma, hints of peach and banana. Identical taste. Lacks some yeasty spiciness to fully meet the style.

Hazy amber beer, small cream colour head. Palate is dry and crispy. Tangy yeast and tangy orange. Spicy banana undertone. Light dry finish. Pretty drinkable.

[2/18/15] Draught at Bootlegger’s Brewery in Fullerton. Nice cloudy yellow with a white head. Pleasant classic aroma with banana and clove. Sweetish flavor, wheaty, fruity and spicy. Medium-bodied.

Bomber from Hi-Time. Pours brassy gold with a fine white head. LIght aroma of banana ester. Med body, nearly. Flavor: Something gone wrong here. It’s lightly phenolic, the banana is barely detectable. It seems to be a rather unremarkable wheat beer, and there’s not a lot of hop. Drinkable, but not really something I’d repeat.
