14th September 2020, Shrewsbury Beer Share gathering with Syrian Supper in Chez Sophie, five in attendance. Cork and caged 75cl bottle (number 0357 of 9000). Cheers Mat for this. Amber, beige head, malts and Belgian yeastiness oozed out of the bottle, sweeter than I expected with caramel hints within the taste, liked it.

75cl bottle @ Syrian Supper tasting, Chez Sophie Sep 20. Clear amber, good off white head. Lovely sweet spicy yeasty caramel nose. Overall character seems centred on sweet spicy doughy yeast with warming alcohol and fruity notes. Not jumping out as particularly hoppy. Malt body could be fuller. Went well with falafel and minty tabouleh.

17/VII/18 - 75cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker), shared @ T.'s BBQ, pré-Gentse Feesten - BB: n/a, brewed: 15/I/18 (2018-846)
Clear orange beer, big creamy off-white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: lots of caramel, malty, bit sweet, bit buttery, butter scotch. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: caramel, some banana, malty, bit sourish, fruity touch, bit sugary, caramel. Aftertaste: little bitter, some citrus, malty, grains, bit soapy. How the hell is this an IPA...?

28 May 2018. At Café Cambrinus. Shared with Anke.
Pours clear amber with a lasting, small, frothy, off-white head; little lacing. The aroma contains cookie dough, caramel, butterscotch, sweet chery, 'Mon Chéri', 'stroopwafel', molasses, spices, almond, speculoos, Irish coffee with lots of whisky. It tastes medium to heavy caramelly sweet, hints of dough & cherry, and light spicy bitter, some yeast and dough coming through, developing a slight cherry-like tartness even. Dryish, herbal hoppy finish, lingering caramel, dough & bread; dash of warming liqueur alcohol. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Even the biggest 'noob' in beer country can taste (or see) that this is not an IPA, so calling it that is quite embarrassing. However, it's still a tasty enough Amber...

28/04/2018 – 10cl glass shared with an international ratebeer crew @ZBF2018 Clear amber. Nose is malts, caramel. Taste is sweet malts, bit caramel, low spice. Reminds a lot of Palm, not IPA

F: thin, almost white, average retention. C: deep gold, almost clear. A: fruits, peach, floral, bit honey, bit banana. T: malty, fruity, bit herbal, bit floral, medium body and carbonation, this is not IPA style and hops are quite well hidden but beside this not bad Belgian ale, sample from bottle shared with Germany and BE RB crew @ ZBF 2018.

Süßlicher Beginn mit wenig Hopfen und rundem bitteren Touch. Erhöhte Karbonisierung, mittellanger Nachhall. Okay. 10/8/9/8//8
