This dry hopped extra pale ale has an undeniably pleasing aroma and clean crisp finish. A mythical legend echoes in our brewhouse- that St. Lupulin, the archetypal hop head devotes his endless summers to endless rows of hops, tending to the flowers and beloved resin within, lupulin.

Great pale ale, with a huge, herbal, funky hop nose that proves to be drool-inducing. The malts are lighter and crisper than a regular pale, with a grainy, pilsnerish middle, but the finish is American as hell, dripping with resinous, gooey hops. The fade is long and dry but not punishing, and the citric/herbal flavors that roll about leave you wanting more. Iโ€™ll be honest, the alcohol seems a little high for such a summer-leaning beer; still, a tasty brew.

Hazy gold beer. Light white head. Softish light palate. Light fresh hops, pineapple and a little grapefruit. Not bitter. A little minerally aniseed at the finish. Fresh and refreshing.

[Bottle at the Bootlegger, High Wycombe] Pale gold with a small white head. Rather thin in the mouth. Pleasant floral and lemon hops, but overall more muted than I expected. Enjoyed it though.

Bottle from Malt & Vine. Pours slightly hazy gold with a slight white head. Aroma is lightly perfumey/floral. Near med body. The hops are strong. It is very floral, but there seems to be a fair amount of resin as well. I think thereโ€™s some malt in this, but the hop is strong. Excellently unbalanced? Unusal to get mouth burn from something so floral, but thereโ€™s a lot of hop.

Draft. Light amber body. Fizzy white head, rapidly diminishing. Sweet aroma with citrus notes. Toasted grain, resin. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Not very clean with raw grain flavor. Drinkable, but disappointing.

Re-rating - the most enjoyable beer Iโ€™ve had from start to finish in some time. The combination of tastiness and drinkability is staggering. Previous rating 06/08/11 = 7+4+8+4+15=3.8 355ml bottle. Pours golden orange with gentle bubbles and a decent head. The nose has pine and just a hint of grapefruit pith. The taste has oranges, grapes against a lovely sweet malt background. The palate has medium structure and texture with a refreshing (though not rasping as with many US IPAs). Overall, this is beautifully balanced!

12 oz bottle into lager glass. Pours a hazy gold hue with a small head that collapses in about a minute; leaves a collar of foam. Aroma is way hoppy--grapefruit is prominent; it also has a smoky, biscuity malt character. Taste is mostly sweet with tart edges and a bittersweet finish. Carbonation is medium-high, body is medium-full. Another great beer from Odell.
