Tap at Blind Tiger. Pours pale gold with a medium, all white head. A fairly hoppy aroma, laden with pine and citrus, and some malt and caramel. Wonderful flavor with great balance. Sweet up front with more caramel, then plenty of bitterness to finish it out. Average body and carbonation. Some lingering bitterness in the finish. A fantastic APA.

Sample at Rogue Ales Public House. This beer is a clear orange color with a medium white head that dissipates to an outer ring. Large patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, caramel and malt. Medium body with flavors of floral hops, pine and caramel malt. The finish is moderately hoppy with an earthy malt note and lingering bitter aftertaste. Above average overall.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Chevy Chase, 2/5/10
Aroma: The nose has lots of grapefruit and orange hops with some caramel malts
Appearance: Pours a very cloudy dark orange color with a fluffy white head, some lace, and sediment
Flavor: Taste is medium sweet, citrus fruits, and light-medium bitter, flavor has a dry finish
Palate: The body is medium, and it has a somewhat creamy mouthfeel
Overall Impression: My first Eugene City rating. This one makes for a pretty decent APA overall, but there is something just a drop off in the flavor. Anyway, there is a nice citrus hop feel to it, but this beer is missing something.

(Bottle, Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Pale amber colour with frothy, beige head, leaving some lacing. Fruity, hoppy nose with orange peel, grapefruit and a touch of pine needles. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of orange peel, grapefruit, crystal malt and fresh, piney hops in the finish. A certain bitterness comes through the aroma hops as well. Medium body, balanced sweetness. Nice beer with a generous, aromatic hop character.

Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Cloudy pale amber, small head. Caramelly nose with some peach. Sweet and fruity with fairly clean mouthfeel. Miderately hoppy with notes of honey and peach. Wakes up more as it warms but remains rather vague.

Slightly hazy deep orange coloured body with an impressive copper tint and a thick dense tan head. Aroma of potent grapefruity hops, malt, alcohol and a light spiceyness. Medium-bodied; Strong assertive hoppiness up front with a bitter twang on the tongue and a light metallic quality. Aftertaste shows the bittering hops, some malt and a bit of alcohol - not much else though! Overall, a pretty respectable APA, much better than anything you’d typically see come from Rogue!!! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Chevy Chase Wine & Spirits in Washington, DC on 07-March-2009, sampled at home on the Eastern Shore of Virginia on 28-March-2009.
