The Roman name for the Low Countries–is a marriage of the best in American and Belgian brewing traditions. Belgian pilsner malt, a generous amount of American and European hops and a unique Belgian yeast strain combine to give Belgica big notes of citrus and spice, creating a lively concoction perfect for spring in the Rockies–or the Ardennes. 7.2% ABV.
First released as Belgian IPA:
Just for fun, the brewers took our Titan, a hop forward American IPA and introduced a Belgian yeast strain to it. The result is unique Belgian-style ale with lots of fruity esters, a citrus hop flavor and nice hop bitterness that’s surprisingly smooth. 7.5% alcohol by volume.

On tap at Flying Saucer. Pours a clear orange gold with a medium creamy white head that lasts awhile leaving good sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is honey malt and fruit. Medium mouthfeel with a spicy yeast and malt with a lingering dry finish. A good belgian from Great Divide.

Bottle @Gråsälstasting. Poured clear golden color with a thin white head. Aroma is spicy and fruity, coriander and yeasty notes. Flavor is citrus hops, spices. Bitter finish. Interesting, quite different beer.

12 oz bottle. Pours clear golden with a white head. Aroma is yeast-dominated, with cloves and bubble gum leading the way, spices and hints of citrus. Flavor has more of an herbal hoppiness, some bubble gum and clove flavors, and some earthiness. Grassy and herbal hops become the dominant flavor soon, with a bit of a yeasty background. Needs better hop flavors.

Tap @ the brewery. Pours clear light golden with a small white head. Aroma of belgain yeast, floral hops. Taste is belgian yeast, fruity and floral hops, caramel notes. Medium body, soft carbonation. Different and pretty good. 220211

Au fut @ The Independent, Tampa. De couleur dorée brumeuse, mousse blanche. Cette bière a tout d’une bonne bière belge allant de la bière d’abbaye a une Duvel mais en ayant un profile qui s’oriente plus vers le houblon. Le tout a des notes de citron, et d’agrumes ainsi que de levure est belge. Ça rappelle évidemment une bonne belge avec le côté américain des IPA.

Bottle: Golden, hazy, lively carbonation, thick & creamy, persistent, white head, sticking to the glass; solid dry orangey nose with a certain hop-presence; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium to full bodied, creamy MF; a solid bitterness, a lemony fruitiness and a slight alcohol-burn in the finish. Belgian flavours dominate in the beginning, "american" in the end......

Bottle. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Yellow colour. Moderate malty and hoppy and yeasty aroma. Some week anis/triple notes. Moderate bitter nice slightly fruity flavor. Average moderate bitter nice finish. OIly palate.
