Cask at the Tilly Shilling (JDW), Farnborough. Amber with a tight cream head; fruity aroma; sour fruit taste with a grainy body; and a sweet barley sugar finish with traces of Belgian-style spice. Interesting with a satisfying finish.

Cask at the Sir John Oldcastle, Farringdon (JDW) - 11/08/12. Slightly hazy golden in colour with a small frothy white head that retained well. Grainy farmyard smell to this beer with some malts and caramel. Malt in the taste allied to toffee, biscuit and grain. Light to medium in body with a sweetish finish. Average.

[cask at Back of Beyond, Reading] Rough as you like gutrot ale. Very bitter and earthy with overtones of musty straw. Struggled to drink even a third of a pint. Is this student homebrew designed as a brewery beer?

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 30/3/08. Deep golden colour with a moderate white head. Aroma of sweet malt and grassy hops. Flavour had some more sweetness, along with ginger and nutmeg spices and a decent dry finish. Drinkable.
