A ’Blue Label’ traditionally denotes a well hopped beer. Blue Label is an award winning ale in its own right, derived from our Sussex Best Bitter.

A blend of four different ’aroma’ hop varieties imparts a delicate bitterness which is balanced by the residual sweetness of malt sugars.

Bottle from the brewery. Now labelled a e as on cask. Original rating on bottle appears as the can option and stood at around 3.8. This time I found it quite dissapointing. Quite thin, bottle and vegetably. 3.1 this time but no doubt room for improvement.

50cl bottle from Rudat. Pours clear deep amber colour with a mid-sized to small beige head. Aroma of mild resinous hops, citrons, reddish malt. Taste of nuts, bitter resinous hops, resins, nutty malty finish, okay!

Many thanks to Eike! Smooth malty beginning. Fresh in body with a nice intense bitterness. Round and fresh, smooth and malty, not too deep but very round and fresh! Nice and easy to drink stuff!

50cl bottle split in two, thanks Pierre T. Ambrée, col blanc-cassé.

Bottle from Harvey’s online shop. Appearance - deep amber and clear, almost a red glow. Nice head. Nose - light apple or grape, muesli. Taste - apple and dry biscuits. Going into a orange tang on the finish. Palate - light bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly tangy finish Overall - I think this is decent given the low ABV.

Bottle from Middle Farm. It pours clear amber with a medium white head. The nose is toasty, grain, oatcakes, cereal and light caramel. The taste is toasty, light bitterness, lemon zest, cereal and dull wood with a short, dry finish. Light body, average carbonation and slightly watery mouth-feel. Light and simple. Not whole lot going on, but drinkable enough.

50cl bottle picked up in Hastings. Golden amber with a loose off-white head; malty aroma; sweet malty flavour, with a few light hops thrown in. Not my favorite Harveys.
