A story that drifts from the cellars of Istanbul to the salty winds of the Aegean: Zula. Born from the bold collaboration of 3 Kafadar and Kykao, this sour beer is a celebration full of surprises, honoring Turkish-Greek gastronomy and shared values. Mastic from the fragrant winds of the Aegean, and mahaleb, a legacy from the deep roots of Anatolia… Zula is where these two forces meet. A 6.4% ABV, champagne-like, free-spirited, pale-colored sour beer, where every sip brings a cultural rebellion that clashes the old with the new.
Zula merges the roots of the past with the spirit of today. Zula isn’t just a beer crafted by 3 Kafadar and Kykao; it’s also a manifesto and a defiance in every sip.

Bottle at the Munich Brewver Christmas gathering at Jonas's in Garching Friday 28th November 2025, in the company of Jonas and Ursula, this bottle is courtesy of Kosta, Kykao brewery, cheers Kostas. Pours light gold almost clear, perhaps a chill haze and with a white fast disappearing head. There's cinnamon on the nose, light sourness a little touch of plastic, light lemon and a little tangy edge. Better than I was expecting.
