Bottle at Chateau Jackl, big thanks to Fin for trading me this one, 13/08/14. Murky chestnut brown with moderate beige edgeing. Nose is mellow dark fruits, dates, vanilla fudgedom, fruit cake. Taste comprises light booze, spice, light musty tones, dark toffee, trace of vanilla. Full bodied, fine carbonation, lightly warming booze in the close. Decent - has aged well.

Bottle at Jack’s, big thanks to Colin! It pours murky deep brown with a small white head. The nose is toasty, toffee, lights fruits, sweet raisin, sultana, rich and earthy. The taste is slick, woody, caramel, toffee, candied fruits, fruit cake, plum skin, banana bread with a smooth, earthy finish. Full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Has aged gracefully. Rather nice.

Very hazy amber beer, small fluffy white head. Palate is semi dry and crispy. Mild prickly carbonation and minerals. Lovely fruit salad sweets that are just lightly sour. Mild toffee caramel malt, creamy too boot. Slash of coca cola before the crisp finish. Hugely drinkable. 11%? Your having a laugh! Drinks like 7%. Fabulous beer.
