Barrel Aged fruity Sour Ale. Historical blend of a rustical saison of which half is aged 6 months in oak barrels which contained wine. Remarkably komplex, dinstinguished through the wild yeasts’ actions. Refreshring, well-balanced between sour and bitter notes, as well as an intensiv fruitiness. The ideal and surprising compromise between wide aromtatic complexity and a refreshing easy drinking beer.

At a tasting at KyotoLefty’s place. An orange-gold pour with a pungeant aroma that is sweet with a hint of biscuit. The medium body contans sweet, sour & funky wine like notes. A very good beer that is perfect for sour lovers.

Bottle. Dark, deepmorange, cloudy, nice thick head. Funky, dry fruity nose. Apricot, orange, grapefruit. Nicely tart, very fruity, great stone fruit, yogurt, some vanilla. Delicious, very complex and fantastic. Rich, old world feel.

Pours an amber orange color. Cloudy opaque. Voluminous 6orange-tinged white head. Lots of lacing, very good retention. The aroma has a nice oaky vinous character with a light citrus note. Mild funk. Some pale grain sweetness. Taste is light to medium tart with a lot of pleasant stuff going on. Tropical fruit, medium tannic oak, wine, citrus, subtle peppery spice. The barrel character is probably the strongest element, but it all blends together very well. Very pleasant and refreshing flavor. Mouthfeel is light, relatively gentle carbonation. Very tasty beer.

Bottle at home. Pours a hazy orange color, with a creamy, off-white-colored, medium head. Has a slightly acidic aroma with touches of citrus, gooseberry, hay and some barnyard. The flavor is surprisingly acidic with hay, vinegar and some grass. Feels fresh and has a dry finish. Mouth feel is smooth and silky and has a light bitterness. A fresh, balanced and sour saison. Again, a good and interesting beer from BFM.

On tap at Stumbling Monk, pours an opaque cloudy golden orange with a small white head. Nose brings out subtle tart notes, with celery, Belgian yeast, and dry apple - the vegetal notes are most prominent, in a good way. Flavour brings out dry vegetal notes as well, with celery, Belgian yeast, some champagne-like notes, and apple cores. Finishes on dry, celery notes. Solid, dry, thirst-quenching saison.

Bottle, thanks to Bruce at the Tuesday Horal Chugging Tasting. It pours cloudy amber with a thick white head. The nose is soft, doughy, spice, stone fruit, apricot and fruit yoghurt. The taste is crisp, tart orange, tangerine, apricot, sherbet, soap, lactic notes, mild acidity, white grape skin, wood and some mustiness with a dry, tart finish. Medium+ body, moderate-high carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Smooth, tart and damn tasty. Really like the tart edge to it. Delicious!
