Taste: Very full-bodied and powerful. The initial alder smoke flavor is balanced by sweet chocolate, nuts, and dark toffee. The finish reveals a pleasant warmth of alcohol, leaving a gently spicy glow in the mouth.
Appearance: A dark brown beer with a small but well-retaining brown head.
Nose: Delicately smoky, sweetly chocolatey, with a hint of tobacco. In the background, a slightly tart coffee note can also be detected.
Malts: Pilsner, Red active, Rye malt, Caramel 150, Caramel 300, Chocolate wheat, Carafa special T-3
Hops: Azacca

330 ml bottle. Pours black with short fizzy tan head. Aromas of dark chocolate syrup, vanilla, smoke and slick roasted malts. Flavors follow same with a hint of whiskey and a bit more smoke and rich chocolate. Smoke is nicely balanced without overloading. Dry. Excellent.

slightly hazy dark brown, settles very dark brown, smooth brown head.
first aroma imression is surprisingly mostly modeling wax or perhaps mushrooms, but mostly medeling wax. maybe glue.. notes reminds me of the most over-barrelled beers i've had only the over-barreled notes here are taken to the extreme here and dominate everything.roasted malts and high abv. is hinted at below all the wax.
flavor is roasted malts, wood, charred wood, licorice. a lot of woody notes - complex. also a lot of smoked woody notes.. tastes quite nice if you're into smoked woody peaty imp stouts.
It really grow on you. give it time in the glass and you will be rewarded. I increased my initial rating. Aroma is still off.

TCBW2025. Deep brownish black colour with a small foamy off-white head. Aroma is chocolaty. some smoky tones with some rye bread and mild caramel with some alcohol as well as some syrupy and mild wooden tones. Flavour is quite similar to the elements of the aroma. Surprisingly smooth considering the ABV.

Opaque colour, steady brownish head. Smoked ham aroma. Full-bodied. Toasted, plenty of ham smoke, same time way too sweet. TCBW 2025.

330ml bottle, kindly shared by Finn. The oily pour reveals a covering fawn-coloured head, scattered lacing and a near black body. Peaty smoked aromas, scents of caramel and mid-sweet chocolate. Rich and smooth taste of vanilla chocolate, wood, and syrup. Prolonged ending, smoked and roasted. Full bodied. Lovely. ( Tromsø, 07.06.2025).

Draught at Lauter, small bubbly head, opaque extremely dark brown colour, aroma of whiskey, dried fruits, caramel and dark bread, extremely sweet, dates, whiskey and a bit of smoke and burned sugar, with the alcohol showing. Nice and highly sippable.

Tap at BPBW 2025. Blackish body, off-whtie head. Dry, smokey, peaty aroma. Sweetish peat-driven smokey taste, ending dryish. Simplistic notes, thought it was well made enough, but too peaty for my tastes.
