2011 version, Fazenda Ambiental Fortaleza, 6.4%

33cl bottle. Pours just about opaque black with some red glints around the edge of the glass. The nose has coffee and chocolate with a hint of smokiness. The taste has coffee and chocolate again. The palate is medium to full bodied with a big creamy texture and a finish that is not too cloying for this style. Overall, a well made example, though my general opinion is that the coffee always overpowers anything else in this style.

Bottle from Beers of Europe drank in a field at Cropredy Festival, Oxfordshire, Friday 10th August 2012 Dark, dark brown, actually it?s black with a creamy textured slim beige head. Great coffee nose, really freshly grounded coffee, smooth taste, nice roasty beer. Good beer, nice cool temperture, like drinking a cooled alcoholic coffee. Good. A7 A4 T7 P3 Ov14 3.5

Draught at "Stora öl - små bryggerier" festival in Malmö
Black color; creamy head. Roasted malt aroma; both aroma and flavor have a clear coffee character, but there is some oxidisation too, wood, dark malts. Confusing.

33 cl bottle @ Gastropub Nordic, BBE 09/2014. Fazenda Ambiential Fortaleza version.
Aroma is roasted and rather rich on mocha coffee. Also hints of truffles and licorice. Flavour has semi-cold mocha, some licorice, dark chocolate and roastiness. Also some vegetables typical to beers with mocha. Enjoyable stuff for coffee lover like me.
