It’s an Imperial version of our Wild Raven, comprising a great body of dark malt complimented with hugely flavoured New Zealand and American hops, this beer is incredibly smooth. It’s a limited one so keep your eyes peeled!

330ml from the bottle shop at Tuckers Maltings. Shared with djoeye and Finn. Patchy beige head blanketing the glass. Clear brown-dark reddish body. Delicate aroma of dark fruits and caramel malts. Solid taste profile of brown malts, dark fruits, molasses and pine. Semi-dry malt-fruity bitterness to the ending. Smooth and warming on the swallow. Enjoying. (Rating session at Finn’s, Tromsø 18.05.2017).

0,33l bottle at home bought from Beergonzo. BB 02.11.2017. dark brown color, medium big tan head. smells licorice, earthy, leathery, quite bitter herbal, sage, chlorophyl, vanilla, nice smell, but with some weird side notes. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes peppery, light veggies, bit cardboardish, some coffee, earthy, leathery, rather bitter herbal, light resin. finishes dry and light to medium bitter with notes of licorice, earthy and coffee notes. good one, but I am not totally convinced about the balance, feels quite heavy too. overall drinkable though.

330ml bottle. Very dark brown with a good beige head. Aroma: herbal and floral hops, roasted malt, citrus, lemongrass. Taste: pretty much the same as the aroma, lightly roasted malt, some dark fruit, citrus, lemongrass and other herbs, floral. Alcohol is extremely well hidden. Medium body, oily mouthfeel. This is quite a herbal/floral BIPA which isn’t really what I want from one, but fairly good nonetheless just not my thing.

Bottle from Cambridge Wine Merchants, Bridge Street. Not black but very dark burgundy/brown. Small bit of loose tan head on top. Light aroma of violets, bruised malts, woodsmoke. Not a typical BIPA. Nor does it taste like a typical BIPA: it’s bitter, almost burned, slightly smoky, and noticeably boozy. Floral and lavender notes come later, with a finish laden with artisanal bitters. Bitter scorched aftertaste. Well-carbonated, medium body. Slightly weird, and the burned-ness of the malt takes it down a notch, but otherwise worth trying.

Bottle, 0.33l. Cloudy dark brown color with medium soapy light brown head and average sparkling appearance. Aroma of mild roasted malt. melon, orange, bubblegum and vanilla. Taste starts with medium sweet mild roasted malt and caramel, follows by refreshing citrus, mild tropical fruit and coffee, mouthfeel is rather dry, while finish is moderate bitter. Medium body, slick texture and average carbonation in palate. Rich malty, however still very refreshing...

BOTTLE 33 CL. Clear black, ruby highlights, beige head. Balanced black IPA aroma - citrus peel and hints of chocolate. Similar taste, light cooking chocolate, strong somewhat harsh bitterness with notes of eucalyptus and wild herbs. The bitterness seems to have a bit of alcoholic spice in it. Not bad,the hops could be brighter.

Bottled 330ml (Alko web shop)
Chestnut brown color, big cloudy off-white/beige head. Toasted sweaty, ashy, fruity, hoppy nose. Medium-bodied. Toasted malty, a bit ashy, tropical fruity flavor. Long lingering roastyness and bitterness in the aftertaste. CDA with a bit odd hops.
