Etwas schlammig. Interessant, aber nicht wirklich gut. 11/9/9/9//9

On tap at the Alvinne Pre ZBF 09 event. Hazy amber/russet. Good yeasty esters on aroma. Bit of herb. It’s ok, not up to the usual Struise standard, which to be honest is set so hiigh. Fruits are nice, but alcohol is a bit prevalent.

Draught at Alvinne pre-ZBF09. Weak fruity aroma, hint of marcipan. Cloudy dark red amber colour. Small tan head. The flavour is mostly marcipan to me. Not as sweet as marcipan, though. Distinct bitterness in the finish. Fruity and vinous finish. I expect more from a beer this strength.

Draught at Pre ZBF, Alvinne, 06-03-09 Pours a murky puddly amber colour with light beige head. Some woodiness, nuts and alcohol are very much in eveidence on the nose along with good dollop of yeastiness. Taste is quite spirity, some tropical fruits, bit of boozy banana its quite nice but I found that the alcohol dominated a little too much at times. Interesting though. A7 A3 F7 P3 OV14 3.4

on tap at Pre-ZBF pours hazy orange and brown with a thin tan head. Aroma was sweet with a sour fruit note. Flavors were nice with some sweet malt and an earthy sourness in the finish. Very interesting and complex flavors in the finish that I couldn’t explain.

From tap. Pours almost clear and golden orange with a small dense off-white head. Aroma is yeasty and malty with a light fruity note. Clear alcohol presence and dense malty flavoured. Slight wooden and spiced. Mild fruity and dense malty finish. The violet flowers really give this a different twist. There are however many other Struise beers better than this, but an interesting brew.

Draught Huge, very fine yellowish head, leaving textbook lace, over deep-red amber beer with slight haze. Pours like gushing from the tap. Almonds, perfume, toilet soap, rosepetals. Almonds, bit of oxydation, almondcake, rosewater. Medium bodied, very slick, pure gristfeel. Nice, if just a tad overperfumed. I was convinced rosewater had been added, until I learned about the violets...
