Bottle bought at the Royal Oak. Smooth fruity beginning. Nice and fresh with ale characteristics. Fruity and fresh with earthy hints. Not much bitterness in the aftertaste but rich and full-bodied. Nice!

Bouteille 50cl, BB 06/2016.

Bottle at home in London - picked up at the Royal Oak. This bottle is at least a year+ old. Pours clear copper with a small, foamy off-white head. A bit of oxidation is present in the nose, with other notes of ripe berries and caramel. Light-medium sweet flavor with jammy berries, grainy bread, nips of metal, bitter leaves and grass, dried caramel. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Finishes sweet and bready, with more ripe berries, oxidation, caramel. So so.

Bottle from Harvey’s Online. Appearance - Nose - toffee and green apple. Then more and more green apple. Taste - more toffee and apple. Palate - close to medium bodied with a tangy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - maybe the green apple note is a flaw in the beer but it’s actually quite pleasant.

Bottle at home. Picked up at Harvey’s. It pours clear amber with a tiny white head. The nose is malt-driven, toasty, brown bread, biscuit, earth, damp basement and leaf. The taste is smooth, toasty grain, bitter, biscuit, brown bread, cereal, earthy, leaf and light spice with a pretty bitter finish. Medium body and light carbonation. Earthy bitter. Pretty decent considering its pasteurised. Interesting.

Bottle at home (Harveys online) - 22/09/12. Pours a crystal clear golden amber with a very thin off-white head that moves quickly towards the edge of the glass and soon vanishes without trace. Nose comprises caramel malt, biscuit, orange, citrus fruit. Tastes follow, a little hops and grain. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation with a bitter finish. Drinkable and average.

Clear amber beer. Slightly dry and slightly crisp palate. Crisp malt well integrated with light fruity hop. Finish is a little over dry for me but this is an easy drinking light ale. Fruit is peach and light orange.
