A deliciously rich barleywine that has spectacular depth and delicacy of flavor that is deep and robust. Its strong, sweet body is balanced with Centennial and Crystal hops for a pleasant hoppiness and finish. Makes a great cellar beer. Available in 22oz. bottles and draught year round. ABV 9% IBU 91

22oz bottle, 2007 vintage. Pours a hazy, copper amber with a frothy, white head. Nose is nice, honey, spices, port, wood shavings, malty, toffee, rum, coconut, orange peel. Flavor has a strong malt component, bready, sweet, honey, caramel, toffee, light candy but also a strong citrus component, lemons, orange rind, sticky pine. Full bodied, sweet, sticky, bitter finish. Drinking perfect right now. Still has some hop bitterness, still have some malt hanging about, oxidation has come in but hasn’t dominated. Nice.

Bottle from my last California trip. A deep amber coloured pour with a medium beige head. Aroma of caramel and malt. Tastes of apple, banana, malt, sweet, hoppy, rich, warming and incredibly moreish. A really well balanced barley wine. Would love to get some more of this beauty!

Full Sail tasting at Enoteca in Post Falls, Idaho. 4 oz sample from bomber poured into shaker. Aroma is full of various spices that I don’t really feel like identifying at the moment; also raisins and alcohol. Smells malty. Pours slightly hazy gold with some nice lacework. Very dessert-like; reminiscent of Port. Sweet and finishes bitter. Tangy aroma increases exponentially halfway through the sample. Carbonation is low. A very delicious barleywine.
