Pale in colour with prominent hoppy palate and full flavoured finish, Golden Newt is a pale session bitter of 4.1% ABV.
The beer has a prominent hop character; a blend of Fuggles, Goldings and Cascade has been used in the recipe to bring the delicate hop flavour and aroma to the fore. The use of Cascade gives a pleasing citrus aroma.
Finest pale Maris Otter malt has been blended with wheat malt and rye crystal to provide a full flavoured beer. The lavish use of late hop dominates the malt flavour and results in a satisfying pint.

Cask at Carpenters Arms, London. Pours clear gold with a soft, creamy cap. Lovely hop aroma with lots of grapefruit and some florals. Mostly bitter flavor with grass, dandelions and dirt. Very faint honey sweetness. Light in body with fine carbonation. Finishes with lingering dirty bitters. Average or so.

Cask, gravity at The Rock of Gibraltar Beer Festival, Enslow, Oxon, 01-09-07 Light golden pour with no head, served a bit too warm in my opinion, beers were served inside the pub on racks with no effort to keep cool. This was the one and only beer that I returned to it seemed to a tiny bit cooler than the others and was rather pleasant. Crisp hoppy aroma, with fruit. Lemony bite to this beer with lingering bitterness and sweet malts only just residing in the background, hoppy and fruity but it’s that great citrusy bite that I will remember.
